As a "Curtain Raiser" for Geva Theatre's production Amadeus, Mercury Opera will perform this short operatic farce written by the "storyteller" and main character in Peter Shaffer's award winning play, Antonio Salieri.
Fridays at 7:30 (September 10, 17, 24 and October 1), Tuesday September 14th at 5:30 PM and remaining Tuesdays (September 21 and 28) at 7:00 PM at Geva Theatre.

Join us on Monday September 13th for our second annual Gala Event at GevaTheatre Center. The reception and auctions begin at 6 PM and the performance begins at 7 PM.
Like last season's event, our gala fundraiser will include some fabulous auction items, wonderful food and wine, and of course, spectacular entertainment!
Tickets are $35 and are available from the Geva Theatre Center Box Office or by calling 585-232-4382 to make your reservations.
Performances are on September 24th and 26th at the new Penfield High School Auditorium.
Under the baton of Artistic Advisor Gerard Floriano, the Mercury Opera Chorus and soloists take the stage with some new and some familiar singers. The cast includes young upcoming American singers Sarah Calinan as Mabel and Brandon McReynolds as Frederic. Kathryn Cowdrick (Julia Child in Bon Appetit) as Ruth, John Davies (Leporello in Don Giovanni) as The Major General, Duane McDevitt as The Pirate King, and Jimi James (Bartolo in Barber of Seville) as the Sergeant. Our children's opera presented in November will be Little Red's Most Unusual Day, a fairytale adaptation by John Davies featuring the music of Offenbach and Rossini.
There will be two public performances on November 6th & 7th at 2:00 PM at The Harley School located at 1981 Clover Street in Rochester, NY. There will also be special performances for children at local area schools.

Verdi's Falstaff will be presented on January 14th and 16th at Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, New York.
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will be under the baton of Artistic Director Benton Hess.
Scott Bearden (La Traviata) returns Rochester to sing the title role. The cast also includes Kathryn Lewek as Nannetta, young upcoming American tenor Jonathan Blalock as Fenton, Andrew Oakden as Ford, Margaret Gawrysiak as Dame Quickly, and Nicholas Gerling as Bardolph. David Bartholomew returns as Stage Director.

Plans for spring include a semi-staged performance of Leonard Bernstein's Candide, with full orchestra on May 6th & 8th in the Hochstein Performance Hall under the direction of Gerard Floriano.
